British Library authorizes Bludeau Partners to promote major microform collection

Bludeau Partners has been appointed authorized worldwide distributor of the British Library’s microfiche collection “Japanese Books in the British Library printed before 1700,” consisting of four parts: Japanese Literature, Chinese Works, Buddhist Works and Japanese Works (other than Literature). The collection comprises all works contained in Kenneth Gardner’s Descriptive Catalogue of Japanese Books in the British Library Printed before 1700, published in 1993. Todd Bludeau has more than 15 years’ experience in working with publishers and institutions from around the world, during which time he has earned a reputation for finding rare and often difficult to obtain materials for research libraries and individual scholars. Todd was formerly president of IDC Publishers’ North American office. Todd is also a published translator of many works of fiction and nonfiction from Russian. In the early 1980s, while living in the USSR, he was closely allied with Moscow’s nonconformist art movement and was a key participant in several performances by Collective Actions (in Russian Kolletivnye deistviia; see, e.g. http://conceptualism.letov.ru/KD-ACTIONS-28.htm). Todd is an avid tennis player.

Lucy Bludeau has a background in Slavic linguistics and has been involved in various exciting businesses. As chief visionary of the company, she is constantly looking for ways to use her considerable entrepreneurial skills to take it to the next level. When she is not busy with the company, Lucy continues her study of martial arts. At the present time she holds a third degree black belt in karate.

Lucy Bludeau is the founder and president of Bludeau Partners International LLC.

Her father, an internationally renowned nuclear physicist, Dr. Jozef Sura, is a great inspiration to both Lucy and Todd in business and in life.

The Bludeau Partners met in Moscow and married in Warsaw.
